I forgot to tell you!

A few weeks ago, I was inspired to write about Jordy’s use of plantain to help heal his dog bite.

While that’s all in the past now, he recently went on a camping trip and was swarmed by a hungry mob of mosquitos. His forearms were covered in those tell-tale red bites. The next day, while exploring Dunsmuir’s Railroad Days, a bunch of *possibly* CHIGGERS got to him! His shins and calves were all munched up.

He returned from a great trip, itching and uncomfortable, until he started using our Bug Bite Balm.

I forgot to tell you when I was writing about plantain earlier this month that we infuse plantain along with anti-inflammatory lavender and soothing comfrey leaf, and combine that skin-nourishing combo with a cooling essential oil blend that knocks the itching aside for some sweet relief.

It helped Jordy so much, he used up the rest of our stash, so we’ve made a new batch just in time for the kick-off of the season of SUN.

I hope you enjoyed the summer solstice this past Sunday. How did you spend the longest day of the year?

As we dive into summer and you plan days outside in the garden, at the river, on a camping trip, or wherever you like to soak up the sun, you might want to add our bug bite balm and our Happy Hiker Bug Spray to your kit.

The spray discourages those little buggers from joining you without enveloping you in a toxic cloud of  insecticides.

Our bug spray blend smells so good, I’ve had people take it home from the farmers market saying they’ll use it as intended, but also as a room spray just because they love it so much. Lavender, lemongrass, tea tree, and rose geranium: delightful to us, deterrent to mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, and chiggers. If only Jordy had had his bottle out on the road….

Those little pink flowers behind? Rose geranium! We say YUM, bugs run awaaaay!
